Barnyard Buddies: Take a tour through Fairytale Town to meet and learn about our flock of farm animals, most of which are rare or miniature breeds. Learn about life on a farm, why the animals at Fairytale Town are considered rare, what they like to eat and what products come from these animals.
Garden in a Glove: Students create mini-greenhouses while learning how seeds germinate and what they need to grow. Students work together to create a “Garden in a Glove” to take back to the classroom for observation and care.
Insects vs. Spiders: What is the difference between and insect and a spider? Learn the characteristics that separate the two, and the amazing lives they live. Also, get a chance to meet some critters, including our tarantulas and different insects that call Fairytale Town home.
Nature Safari: Take a tour learning about different plant species that are growing in our gardens. Learn about how plants grow, what they need to survive, and the different things they produce. Then, embark on your safari to see what you can find under a magnifying glass!
Beaks and Feathers: Meet our feathered friends while learning about birds’ nests, eggs, feathers, flight, and how birds eat by using tools that simulate different types of beaks.
Rockin’ Reptiles: Meet our scaly, cold-blooded friends while we explore the world of reptiles. Learn all about what they eat, how they move, how they protect themselves in the wild, and what separates them for other animals.
Science Lab: Become Junior Scientists and conduct an experiment here at Fairytale Town! Activities could include learning about states of matter, exploring energy, or even learning the science behind slime. Experiments are based on age ranges and can be catered to different groups.
Buzzing Bees: Get an up-close look at Fairytale Town’s own bees and their hives while learning why these animals are vital to our environment. Participate in interactive activities that look at bee’s life cycle, communication methods, and uses of beeswax.
