STORYBOOK READ-A-THON & FAMILY LITERACY CELEBRATION
FRIDAY-THURSDAY, JUNE 6-11
Join us for a storytelling celebration full of literacy and imagination!
The Fairytale Town Storybook Read-A-Thon & Family Literacy Celebration is a new literacy engagement event designed to promote reading, family participation, and community storytelling.
Participating children and families track daily reading at home using themed reading logs (“Storybook Passports”) and a Rainbow Reading Map system. Families are encouraged to read together, visit libraries, and engage in storytelling as part of their daily routines.
Throughout the week, Fairytale Town supports engagement with daily reading prompts, story-based challenges, and shared highlights distributed through email and social media.
The program concludes on June 11th (LeVar Burton Day) with a Family Literacy Celebration held at Fairytale Town, featuring a central Storytime experience focused on LeVar Burton–inspired and featured children’s literature, celebrating storytelling, representation, and imagination.
