Sacramento Museum Day

Fairytale Town offers half-off admission for the14th Annual Sacramento Museum Day. A Sacramento cultural tradition, Museum Day, invites all members of the community to experience the Capital City’s incredible wealth of art, history, science and wildlife at numerous participating museums at little to no cost. This event is presented by the Sacramento Association of Museums (SAM), and proudly supported by Umpqua Bank. For a complete list of all participating museums click here.

Read Around Fairytale Town

Saturday, March 3 & Sunday, March 18
Performances at 12PM & 2PM

On Saturday, March 3, Green Eggs and Ham takes center stage as Fairytale Town celebrates literacy and the birth of Dr. Seuss with Read Around Fairytale Town. Children's entertainer, Mister Cooper will bring the stories of Seuss alive with his dynamic performances at 12PM and 2PM on the Mother Goose Stage. Children can create and wear Cat in the Hat hats or Thing One and Thing Two wigs, and participate in literary fun throughout the grounds.

Read Around Fairytale Town continues on Sunday, March 18, when magician Trevor Wyatt brings the magic of books alive with tricks and storytelling performances on the Mother Goose Stage at 12PM and 2PM. This literacy program is made possible by a generous grant from Target.

Fairytale Town Goes Green

Saturday, March 10
11AM - 3PM

Green matters. If we each do a little, we all do a lot. Join Fairytale Town and several local area organizations and spend the day learning about environmental awareness. This program features educational displays, hands on activities using recycled materials, incentives and information on green programs in your area and easy tips on how you and your family can go green. Puppet Art Theater will be performing The Three Little Pigs with a conservation twist in the Children's Theater. Puppet show tickets are $1 for members $2 for nonmembers, showtimes are 12:30PM, 1:30PM & 2:30PM.

Spring Eggstravaganza

Saturday & Sunday
April 7 & 8
11AM - 3PM

Join us for the popular, fun-filled family weekend featuring egg hunts, prizes, spring themed hands on activities, and pictures with Peter Cottontail (additional cost). Daily egg hunts will be held at 12PM, 1PM & 2PM, promptly. Hunt areas are separated by age groups as follows, 0 - 3yrs, 4 - 6yrs & 7 - 12 yrs. Puppet Art Theater will be performing  Bunny Boot Camp in the Children's Theater. Puppet show tickets are $1 for members and $2 for nonmembers, show times are at 12:30PM, 1:30PM & 2:30PM.

Farms, Friends & Fairytales

Saturday, May 19
11AM - 3PM

Celebrate agriculture at the fifth annual Farms, Friends & Fairytales event! Arrive early to watch the twin Babydoll sheep, Lucy & Ethel, get sheared, then watch as a wool spinner spins the wool into thread using an old fashioned spinning wheel! Enjoy agriculture themed hands on activities, a mini-farmer's market and visit with local area farms and organizations to learn more about California's rich agricultural history.

Weekdays at 10:30AM, 11:30AM & 12:30PM
Weekends at 12:30PM, 1:30PM & 2:30PM

Puppet Art Theater is back for another season filled with music, puppetry and fun! Four original shows will be performed in the Children's Theater. Puppet Show tickets are $1 members and $2 nonmembers. All shows are performed by Puppet Art Theater Company. This years line up is as follows:

May 3 - 13: Little Red Riding Hood
May 17 - 27: The Three Billy Goats Gruff
May 31 - June 10: Hansel & Gretel
June 14 - June 30: Cinderella - PREMIERE!

Bring your sleeping bags & tents to Fairytale Town and sleep under the stars! This fun filled sleepover includes a special theater performance, a hands-on activity, a Fairytale themed scavenger hunt, group sing-a-long and bedtime story. This is a special ticketed event, prices range from $20 - $30, fees include all activities, an evening snack and a light breakfast the next morning. Registration opens April 1.

12th Annual ScholarShare Children's Book Festival

All weekend long at Fairytale Town's Children's Book Festival guests receive free admission thanks to generous support from ScholarShare College Savings Plan. Activities include ongoing author and illustrator presentations on the Mother Goose Stage, and a wide array of hands-on literacy activities provided by several local area arts organizations, and more!

Safe & Super Halloween

Trick or treat at 17 candy stations as you wander through the park. This event features thematic decor throughout the park, fun hands on activities, a costume parade and more! Puppet Art Theater will also be on hand in the Children's Theater, showtimes are 6PM, 7PM & 8PM tickets are $1 for members and $2 for nonmembers.

Free Admission Day

Friday, November 23
10AM - 4PM

Fairytale Town offers free admission to families who bring in a canned good the day after Thanksgiving as a chance to say thanks for visiting throughout the year. All canned goods will be donated to Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services, Holiday Spirit of Giving Food Drive. Activities during the event include an arts & craft activity and puppet shows by Puppet Art Theater in the Children’s Theater. Puppet show tickets are $1 for members and $2 for nonmembers.
