DESCRIPTION:Teachers and adults are invited to a one-day workshop to learn how to teach cryptography and establish a CryptoClub program at your school or after-school program! \nWhat is CryptoClub?  \nIn a CryptoClub\, kids in 5th – 8th grades use mathematics to make and break secret codes. Because of the mathematical nature of the subject and the natural interest surrounding secret messages\, cryptography is an exciting hook for learning and applying mathematics! CryptoClub can be anywhere—after-school\, in-class\, as part of a youth group\, or scout program! While curriculum is geared towards 5th – 8th graders\, it can be adapted easily for lower or higher grades. \nWhat is the Leader Training?  \nDuring Leader Training\, participants will learn how to: teach cryptography in fun and engaging ways; incorporate school mathematics into the informal learning environment; use a variety of games\, internet activities\, and stories to engage their students; and how to establish a CryptoClub program in your school or afterschool program. Leaders need not be mathematics teachers—just enthusiastic about math! No prior cryptography experience is required. \nCost: $30 per person. Includes a copy of the CryptoClub Cipher Handbook for use during the workshop and the CryptoClub Leader Manual for use in leading your own Cryptoclubs. DESCRIPTION:Teachers and adults are invited to a one-day workshop to learn how to teach cryptography and establish a CryptoClub program at your school or after-school program! \nWhat is CryptoClub?  \nIn a CryptoClub\, kids in 5th – 8th grades use mathematics to make and break secret codes. Because of the mathematical nature of the subject and the natural interest surrounding secret messages\, cryptography is an exciting hook for learning and applying mathematics! CryptoClub can be anywhere—after-school\, in-class\, as part of a youth group\, or scout program! While curriculum is geared towards 5th – 8th graders\, it can be adapted easily for lower or higher grades. \nWhat is the Leader Training?  \nDuring Leader Training\, participants will learn how to: teach cryptography in fun and engaging ways; incorporate school mathematics into the informal learning environment; use a variety of games\, internet activities\, and stories to engage their students; and how to establish a CryptoClub program in your school or afterschool program. Leaders need not be mathematics teachers—just enthusiastic about math! No prior cryptography experience is required. \nCost: $30 per person. Includes a copy of the CryptoClub Cipher Handbook for use during the workshop and the CryptoClub Leader Manual for use in leading your own Cryptoclubs. Classes will be held in the indoor Children’s Theater. \nCreated by Zumba® and BabyFirst for kids ages 0-4\, the Zumbini® program combines music\, dance and educational tools for 45 minutes of can’t-stop\, won’t-stop bonding\, learning\, and fun! \nSpace is limited\, so sign up today! \nRegister for Zumbini \nZumbini Fees & Registration\nSix-week Zumbini Class: Wednesdays\, September 18 October 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, & 30 \n$80 for the six-week class for members\n$100 for the six-week class for nonmembers \nThe registration fee is for the six-week class for one little one from infancy to age 4 and one parent/caregiver. DESCRIPTION:Ahoy\, me hearties! Join Fairytale Town in celebrating international Talk Like a Pirate Day. The Pirates of Sacramento will be on hand to present “Pyrate Skool” and other games along with plenty of pirate themed fun and activities for yer whole family\, savvy? Mermaids will also be on hand for mermaid fun and games. \nGuests who wear pirate themed attire (eyepatches\, bandanas\, pirate hats\, hooks\, etc.) will receive one free child admission with a paid adult. Special offer valid Thursday\, September 19\, 2019. Not valid with combo ticket\, special ticketed events\, birthday parties\, field trips\, or any other offer or discount. \nTalk Like a Pirate Day is free with paid park admission. Weekday admission is $5 for adults and children ages 2 and older. Members and children ages 1 and under are free. \nPlease note: \n\nAdults must be accompanied by children and children must be accompanied by adults in order to gain admittance to Fairytale Town.
