SUMMARY:Kids' Obstacle Race at Fairytale Town
DESCRIPTION:Register Now!\nObstacle racing…it’s hip\, happening\, and promotes overall fitness in a fun atmosphere! \nThis September\, obstacle racing comes to Fairytale Town\, serving as a fantastic warmup for October’s Dignity Health Dirty Kid Obstacle Race at the Sacramento Adventure Playground\, or for anyone who simply wants to run over\, through and under Fairytale Town’s iconic play structures. \nGet your phones ready – this is a photo-worthy event! \nRace is for ages 4-15. Ages 4-5 will race over about a quarter mile with about 10 obstacles. Ages 6-15 will race about a half mile over approximately 16 obstacles\, with both races including water wading and bubbles (there is no mud obstacle at this event). Racers will be placed in age groups (“waves”) at 9:00am. \nFEES:\nEach racer will receive a Fairytale Town Family Pass for 4 (includes racer). Additional spectators must purchase admission to Fairytale Town. Fairytale Town Members can use ‘MEM’ discount code for $10 off. NOTE: No entrance passes for use of this code as Members get in for free. \n\n\n\n\n\nAges 4-5\nAges 6-15\n\n\nThrough Sept. 17\n$30\n$35\n\n\nSept. 18\n$35\n$40\n\n\nSept. 20 (onsite only)\n$35\n$40\n\n\n\n\nT-SHIRTS\nDignity Health Dirty Kid Obstacle Race t-shirts are available for $15. Youth sizes are Small-Medium and adult sizes are Small-XL. The shirt is the same for both September’s Fairytale Town race and October’s Sacramento Adventure Playground races\, and are available while supplies last. No online t-shirt orders after Sept. 19 (can purchase onsite at race) \nREGISTRATION\nRegister in person or online (online fees applied). \n\n\nAdvertisement\n\n\n\n\n2026 Race Enrollment Form (no added fees)\nRegister Online (online fees apply) \nOBSTACLES\nObstacle racing is considered to be safe. It does involve crawling\, over/under obstacles\, and moving on uneven surfaces. This race will include entering and wading through water (about 6-8″) and going through bubbles. Obstacles are designed to be age appropriate. Runners may skip any obstacle. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to help. No parents on the race course. There is no mud obstacle at this event (for that\, see the October races at Sacramento Adventure Playground!). \nBelow is a map and obstacle description of the race. \nRace Information and Course Map 2026 \nWAVES/STARTING\nThis race will be conducted in “waves” of up to 12 runners. The next wave may start with runners still on the course. Races for each age division will not start prior to the times noted below. Runners should be at the registration table at the entrance 30 minutes prior to their race time. \nAges 6-7 – 9:00am\nAges 8-9 – 9:10am\nAges 10-15 – 9:20am\nAges 4-5 – 9:30am \nAFTER THE RACE\nEnjoy Fairytale Town up until 5pm. Portions of the park will be closed during the race\, with the full park estimated to open around 9:45am. The southwest portion of the park will open after clearing the Ages 6-15 course on that side of the park. \nAWARDS\nThere is no timing or awards for this event. The October races at Sacramento Adventure Playground will have timing and awards. \nCANCELATIONS\nThis is a fundraiser supporting the Sacramento Adventure Playground (powered by Fairytale Town). As such\, and within race tradition\, there are no refunds.

SUMMARY:Dirty Kid Obstacle Race at The Sacramento Adventure Playground
DESCRIPTION:Register Now!\n“Clean” is not an option! Join us for our 8th annual Dignity Health Dirty Kid Obstacle Race at the Sacramento Adventure Playground on Saturday and Sunday\, October 10-11 from 10AM-11AM each day. Youth and adult participants of all ages (4 and up) will race in a small endurance course with obstacles\, including MUD! \nWaves of kids 4–15—and even some adults—will be challenged by a demanding course with numerous physical obstacles—climbing over walls\, jumping hay bales\, crawling through a mud pit and through tubes\, navigating balance beams\, and dragging tires. Course length\, obstacles\, and difficulty adjust with age. The race is both fun and an important lesson in perseverance! \nThis event serves as a fundraiser for the Sacramento Adventure Playground\, with all proceeds going toward supporting the Adventure Playground\, a Fairytale Town-powered initiative. Located at Maple Neighborhood Center\, the Adventure Playground is an after-school youth development program that enables youth ages 6 to 15 to engage in supervised play activities free of charge. \nCORNY ISLAND FESTIVAL at SAP Oct. 10-11\nThe Oct. 10-11 races will have a festival for more fun\, the Corny Island Festival.  Yes\, all things corn!  There will be the Corn Dig\, Corn Art\, Corn Hole\, Candy Corn\, Pop Corn\, Pumpkin Carving (with corn accessories)\, Corny Jokes and Gold\, Gem\, and Corn Sluice Box Mining\, And anything else corny we can think of.  Pumpkin Carving is an additional fee (order in advance for guaranteed availability).  Race ticket will include one mining pouch.  Additional pouches or gem upgrade may be purchased in advance or on site (as available). Oct. 10 is also a Community Day\, where non-racers will be invited (siblings can still do the Festival portion on Oct. 11). \nFor the Fairytale Town September 20 races see the Dignity Health Dirty Kid Obstacle Race at Fairytale Town website. \nAGES 4-99. Saturday OR Sunday October 10-11\, 2026\n10AM – 11 AM (wave times assigned during this time period)\nMaple Neighborhood Center\, 3301 37th Ave.  Sacramento\, CA 95824\nRacers must be at least 4 years old to race. \nOnline Registration closes 2 days prior to race day. In person registration during this time can be done at the SAP office on Thursday/Friday\, or Race Day. \n\nRegister\n\nCOURSE INFORMATION (2026 details being developed\, but very similar to 2025.)\n2025 Course and Race Information as an Example \nWAVES\nRunners will start in waves of 6-10 runners\, 1-10 minutes apart. There will be over\, under\, carry\, crawl and of course mud. Obstacles will not have a high degree of difficulty. Runners will run in “waves” of up to 10 persons. The course will be within and behind the Adventure Playground. \nThis event is a fundraiser for the Adventure Playground.  100% of the funds goes towards sponsoring the Adventure Playground. \nSeptember Race at Fairytale Town\nThis race is ideal for those wanting to learn the basics of obstacle racing\, a tune-up race for the October races or those looking to being allowed to run over-through-under the iconic Fairytale Town
