Open to young actors ages 5 to 18—and interns aged 18 to 21—this unique program encourages novice performers to work side-by-side with seasoned veterans to gain invaluable “hands-on” experience in the art of producing Live Theatre. \nThe Fairytale Town Troupers program is led by Fairytale Town’s resident Education & Theatre Arts Specialist John Lee\, an award-winning local playwright\, director\, actor and educator. \n\n“Once Upon a Time: 1959!” marks Mr. Lee’s 50th—and final—stage production for the Fairytale Town Troupers. Mr. Lee brought the first of many independent productions to Fairytale Town in 2001\, taught his first “Dramarama” workshop in 2003\, joined the staff in 2007\, and retires in June after 23+ years of Making Magic onsite. \n\nWeekend admission is $9 for adults and children ages 2 and older. DESCRIPTION:Weather Permitting \nCelebrate Lunar New Year at Fairytale Town! We’ll have crafts\, story time inside the Story Center\, and a performance at 1PM on Mother Goose Stage by Jade Rabbit Dragon and Lion Dance. \n\nThe Lunar New Year Celebration is free with paid park admission. Weekend admission is $10 for adults and children ages 2 and older. Members and children ages 1 and under are free. \nPlease note: \n\nAdults must be accompanied by children and children must be accompanied by adults in order to gain admittance to the park.\nFairytale Town closes when it rains heavily. If skies are gray\, check our website or call (916) 808-5233 to confirm our hours and program details.\n\n

A heartwarming story for all ages\, celebrating courage\, compassion\, and second chances. I also have great memories of giant bear mascots at Cal football games and our family’s tradition of saying thank you to nature every fall for making room for new growth. All these things inspired me to create my new book ‘Georgina’ that talks to kids about change being everywhere and change being a constant in life. It is my first coloring book because I think coloring is so relaxing and fun. But ‘Georgina’ is also a sweet story about friendship\, changing seasons\, and traveling around the world. You’ll learn cool life lessons while coloring your way through George and Ina’s magical adventure.
