About Our Town Getting Involved Volunteer Opportunities | Memberships | Sponsorships | Affiliates You Can Support Fairytale Town! We're off to see the Wizard! The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is one of the most beloved children’s books of all time. Because his book has captured the imaginations of generations of children, Fairytale Town plans to include it in its collection of play sets based on favorite children’s literature by building one of the strongest images from the story - The Yellow Brick Road. The initial segment of the Yellow Brick Road will be built in front of Fairytale Town and will lead to its front gate – the entry to Sacramento’s Oz! In addition to being a new set for children to play on, The Yellow Brick Road will also raise funds for its installation, and for other improvements to the park, by offering the opportunity to buy a brick. This gives families and individuals the chance to make a lasting contribution to their hometown park, and have a permanent presence at Fairytale Town. Bricks can be purchased for $100 and can be engraved with a family name or individual names. Each brick can have up to three lines of up to 15 characters (including spaces). Sponsorships of the new set are also available for $500 to $20,000 and include recognition on the set plaque in addition to complimentary bricks. The Yellow Brick Road was the brainchild of Shirley Plant, one of the founding members of Fairytale Town. She, along with other founders and board members are working to make the dream a reality.
