10 Tips to Have a Happy Birthday at Fairytale Town

Fairytale Town has been hosting birthday parties since 1959, and they’re just as magical today as they were then! Expect Fairytale Town to provide the fun – not only will your child have a party that he or she will never forget, but Fairytale Town is bursting with exciting things to do and see, such as favorite fairytale play sets like the Crooked Mile and Jack’s Beanstalk, friendly farm animals, daily activities and Magic Story Boxes.

1. PLAN AN AGE-APPROPRIATE PARTY

If your child is age 1 or younger, we recommend reserving Sherwood Forest so that you can conduct it at your child’s pace and design your own activities and games appropriate for your little ones. Parties in King Arthur’s Castle, Pirate’s Cove, Pooh Corner and Mr. McGregor’s Garden are perfect if your child is turning 2 or older, because older children have a longer attention span for the activities we provide, and are more comfortable with having a Fairytale Town employee host the party.

2. USE THIS WEBSITE

Birthday parties are available for online booking, or call us at (916) 808-7062.

3. BE PREPARED WHEN YOU BOOK YOUR PARTY

Know the number of party guests, whether you need items such as party bags, invitations, t-shirts and magic keys. Select two to four possible party dates before you call.

4. IT IS BEST TO BOOK FOUR TO EIGHT WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF YOUR PARTY

Dates book up quickly, especially spring and summer weekends. Leave a complete message if you do not reach a staff member rather than just trying to call back. We want to know you called!

5. BRING EXTRA PARTY BAGS

If you bring or purchase party bags, have a few extras on hand for siblings or surprise guests. Please think about the items you are bringing to the park – straws, pinatas and balloons are not allowed for the safety of our animals, for whom they can be a dangerous snack!

6. INCLUDE A MAP

Include a map on the back of your invitation to make finding your party easy.

7. PARTY GUEST ARRIVALS

Have a set time and location to meet your guests at Fairytale Town. Please invite guests to arrive at least 30 minutes before the party is scheduled to start. If you booked a late party time, please invite guests to arrive one to two hours early to play in the park and meet our friendly farm animals. Our farm animals go to bed between 3 PM and 4 PM daily.

8. KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR CHILD’S GIFTS

Bring a toy wagon or a wheeled storage container to make this easy.

9. Dress According to the THEME PARTY

A theme makes everything more fun, so encourage your guests (and even their parents) to come in costumes. For Barnyard Bash in Pooh Corner, Royal Party in King Arthur’s Castle, Pirate Party in Pirate’s Cove and Green Thumb Party in Mr. McGregor’s Garden, you can dress up according to the built-in theme of the party. For parties in Sherwood Forest and the Enchanted Garden, pick a theme of your choice, from a favorite story to one of the sets at Fairytale Town.

10. NO DECORATIONS NEEDED

Don’t worry about decorations. There is very little time between parties to put up and take down decorations, and the sets are exciting, clean and beautiful already.
